IETF 117 Trip Report
This is a synopsis of the proceedings of the 117th meeting of the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF). The IETF is the guiding technical body for the Internet and the protocols/applications that run upon it (IP, DNS, DHCP, TCP, UDP, FTP, and many others). Since the Internet and the applications/protocols that run upon it, are the most critical and most utilized in the world, it follows that the IETF is one of the most influential and important organizations in the world, in spite of the fact that most enterprises are relatively unaware of the IETF. This document is one of many INTC attempts, to bridge that very large gap. Most of these same protocols also run on corporate, government and home networks, making IETF and the bridging of this gap, even more important.
